Carbon fiber
As far as I used custom boards I have the leisure to experiment many kind of carbon fiber like 1K/3K or a mix of those mentioned above, and I made my own opinion for what suits me best in term of performances and durability.
I would like to know what kind of carbon fiber glass could you suggest for such a 58 custom slalom board?
Guess if you have 1 k available and don't mind using multiple layers go for it but the cost will go through the roof, we used to use 3k material but availability became and issue as the aircraft and military took a liking to it, so switched to a 12K ribbon cloth which is a harder to work with but actually gives a better result for our use.
Whats more important that the weave or weight is the quality of ther fiber used, carbon "a" is not the same as carbon "b", in actual fact you can buy fake carbon too !!
Our cloth is woven using a T700 fiber from Toray which is a standard modulus with a higher elongation so produces a tougher result with the same stiffness, the weave is a ribbon style so lays very flat too.
Cheers, James.
