Best windsurfing locations

Hi CA Riders and others,

I'm searching for the name (and GPS location) of the best windsurf locations world wide for the variety of all that CA Boards are used. I'd like to add them to the Google map that we have in the Contact Us area, to enhance its use.

I have already several locations that I'm in the process of pin pointing and will then search out photos and other information. Any help much appreciated.

Thanks, Mike

We have lots of hidden gems in sweden but here are the classics...

Haga Park, Öland, is the classic swedish slalom/speed spot
Nice and relaxed, host to several competitions, best in spring to early summer

Apelviken, Varberg, is the classic plug'n play spot for waves
nice and easy, the waves arrives quickly when the wind is up
57.081197, 12.259455

Torö
doesnt work as often as you would like but on rare ocations it can bring some of the best waves in Sweden
Stones and rocks, pungarehu of sweden
58.797129, 17.795126

Mike, a good spot for your Google would Burrum Heads Queensland North for Harvey Bay where there is a speed strip 3.5km long which works at low tide with a se wind it is the best speed strip in Qld & the second best in Australia if not the best plus if you have a look on Google you will see other easterly facing banks. Speeds have been reached up to 42kts sofar with a 36kt NM this place has not been sail for long so I think it will get better. Glynn

Hi Mike

Not sure about the GPS locations but you should be able to find them on Google Maps (if not, let me know). This would be my list of favourite spots, depending on wind strength and direction:
- Zeebrugge, Duinbergen/Knokke (B): wave, slalom & formula
- Wissant, Wimereux (F): wave
- Herkingen (NL): speed
- Grevelingendam (NL): slalom & formula
- Brouwersdam: (NL): slalom & formula

Hi Roo,

thanks for those points I have now added them in. I also added in GPS locations for a lot of the CA Riders and a few other slalom and speed locations on the CA world map.

Thanks, Mike
